Diagnosis

Hind margin of second gastral tergite incised; costal cell bare. Similar to pubicornis, but differs in having the hind margin of second gastral tergite incised. Another character which seems useful in this respect is the colour of scutellum: golden with purple tinges posteriorly in cavei, completely golden-purple in pubicornis, but since the colour tends to vary this should be used with some caution.
